Great balls of…..protein

Hi everyone and er, hello to these chocolate wonder balls. I am feeling a little bit under the weather, due to my dastardly hormones. They have this tendency to knock me for six at times but I am fighting back with my, in every way gorgeous, protein balls. They are delicious with a nice cuppa and just one will give you such a great energy boost. Perfect for those afternoon slumps.

They are raw, so no cooking necessary, just throw all the ingredients into a blender and bobs your uncle.

So let’s get to it…..

CACAO & NUT PROTEIN BALLS

Ingredients

1 cup of nuts or seeds or both (I used almonds and pumpkin seeds this time but often use half almonds and half walnuts)

1/4 cup of cacao powder

1/4 tsp of sea salt

1 cup of medjool dates (pitted and chopped)

3 tbsp of water

I sometimes add chia seeds and hemp seeds too. Probably 1 tbsp of each.

Method

Blitz your nuts in a food processor until it becomes a fairly fine mixture. Then add the cacao and salt and give it another little blitz. Add the water and dates, a little at a time, to make sure the dates get blitzed properly. Then you should be left with a mixture that holds together in your hands. Roll into balls and pop in the freezer for about 40 mins.

I take out as and when but you can store them In the fridge for about a week. Trust me, they won’t last that long!

This mixture can also form the base to many deserts. I will post my chocolate torte soon, which uses this mixture and is delicious.

So enjoy eating something, that is not only good for you but is a little bit of chocolate heaven.

Have a great evening and please comment in the box below. Cx
